Favorite Hellraiser Film: My favorite Hellraiser film is the original. The first thing I ever saw dealing with Clive Barker's work was an image in Fangoria number 67 with skinless Frank on the cover. I bought it and the funny thing was that there were no pictures or mention of the Cenobites in that issue. I dragged my friend to the theater to see it with me and I was blown away by the gothic haunted house story that was punctuated by violence and grotesque imagery. Beautiful! My friend actually gagged in the seat next to me during the 'Jesus wept' scene so I guess he didn't find the beauty in it! It was a viewing experience that made me a horror fan for life.
Favorite Cenobite and why: My favorite Cenobite is Pinhead. The robes make him a monk in the hellish Order of the Gash and the pins in his head make him look like a religious penitent. Plus, he gets all the cool lines.
Favorite Item(s) in your collection: My favorite items are my Pinhead statue from NECA and the Hellraiser Laserdisc collectors box set of the original Hellraiser. It came with a bound copy of the script and I got number 2 out of 2500.
The Hellbound Heart puzzle box I made is another of my favorite items. In the novella, the box was a black lacquered wooden puzzle. I made mine out of oak and stained it black laquer but I designed it to move into the star configuration from the Hellraiser movies. It took a long time, but I finally figured out how the box was made by going frame by frame on the DVD. It took me about fifty hours and several attempts at wood working to finally make one that fit together. I also made another one for a good friend of mine that I met at Clive Barker's web site. That item is limited to two editions just because they are just too hard to make!
